Change For The Better

Over the past year my approach and thinking toward our culture has changed quite a bit. It really has had nothing to do with the pandemic or political situation in our country. It has to do with the direction our country is heading in its relationship with God.

Over the last the few decades we have seen our country drift further from God and it is putting us in difficult positions as Christ followers. It is much harder to walk in God’s will when it comes to media, truth, and morality than it was even 30 years ago. For a while, I mourned and bemoaned the fact that these things are changing.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am saddened that so many see no need for God and His truth in their lives. But recently I have chosen to look at it from a different perspective. Rather than focus on what has changed, I have decided that this presents a great opportunity to share the Gospel as an alternative to what the world has to offer.

It is much easier to present the truth, love, and grace of God when the culture it is in is so starkly different. Of course it will not always be easy. Paul wrote to the church in Corinth, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.“ (1 Corinthians 1:18)

In this world filled with evil, depression, broken relationships, and broken promises we need someone who will love us, heal us, and be honest with us. That person is Jesus. We know Him, now let’s share Him!

Covid-19 Update

CCCC will continue to worship virtually while Wayne county is “orange” or “red.” This past week numbers did rise in Wayne county bringing us close to red. Also, the two counties closest to us, Henry and Fayette, or both red.

Also in the last couple of weeks my family has been affected by COVID with my wife, Adriana, contracting. She is doing well and recently tested negative. Thanks for the prayers! We have also seen multiple people in our church test positive, so being apart is the best course of action for now. We hope in the coming month to come back together again, but it will happen in the Lord’s timing.

This Sunday

This Sunday Danny will share on how we can stand up to evil when it comes. This week’s passage is so timely with all the events we have seen unfold in our culture this past week. Come challenged to see evil in a new way and learn how to respond to it like Jesus did.
